Job description

Role Description

Join the vibrant and dynamic Music and Performing Arts Department at Newcastle College, one of the largest and most prestigious departments in the region. We are committed to delivering excellence to our students, who study on courses starting from Level 2 through to full honours degrees.

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Curriculum Leader to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing curriculum and delivery teams, achieving high expectations and quality outcomes. As Curriculum Leader, you will lead and manage a team of lecturers and specialist technicians, oversee large resources and support staff, and manage a comprehensive suite of courses across multiple disciplines. You will ensure the continued excellence of our curriculum delivery across Further, Higher, and Adult Education.

In this role, you will drive and maintain high standards of teaching and learning, foster a collaborative and innovative environment, and monitor and enhance curriculum quality and effectiveness. Additionally, you will engage with industry professionals and stakeholders to enrich the curriculum and support the professional development of staff members.

We are looking for an experienced leader with strong leadership and management skills, a background in curriculum development and team management, and a passion for music and performing arts education. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential for this role. It would be beneficial, but not essential, to be able to teach piano and vocals.

Be part of a prestigious and forward-thinking department, working in a supportive and collaborative environment. We offer opportunities for professional growth and development, allowing you to advance your career while making a significant impact on our students' education.

If you would like to discuss the position further, please contact: Gemma Wynne,
