Sotheby's Institute of Art in London is seeking an Academic Manager to lead the academic development of Professional Programmes across London, New York and Online. You will work with Course Leaders, industry experts, and internal teams to shape rigorous, market-relevant learning experiences.

The role emphasizes curriculum design, adult learning, quality assurance and international collaboration, with a 9-month fixed term and a start window in late 2026.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Art History, Art Business, Museum Studies or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience designing or developing higher education, executive education or professional learning programmes.
• Experience developing asynchronous online learning and working within quality assurance processes.
• Strong understanding of pedagogy, curriculum design and adult learning principles.
• Extensive knowledge of art history and the international art world; established networks.

Responsibilities

• Lead academic design and redevelopment of Professional Programmes across London, New York and Online.
• Collaborate with Course Leaders to develop curriculum, outcomes and assessment strategies.
• Champion pedagogy and adult learning across online, in-person and hybrid formats.
• Ensure programme quality, consistency and alignment with accreditation frameworks.
• Identify and recruit Course Leaders and guest speakers; manage partnerships with industry.
