Job summary

Soho House in the United Kingdom is seeking a Commis Chef to support the kitchen brigade under the guidance of the senior team, helping deliver high-quality dishes for members and guests while upholding the Club's standards and values.

You will assist with mise en place, food preparation, and plating, learn knife skills, basic sauces, and kitchen techniques, and participate in ongoing training and team events.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience in similar capacity.
• Passion for food and desire to learn and grow.
• Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
• Culinary qualification is a plus but not essential.
• Must follow training schedule and Club School.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs across kitchen sections with prep and plating.
• Follow recipes, portions and plating standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of prep areas.
• Receive and store deliveries; rotate stock per HACCP.
• Learn knife skills, sauces, veg prep, plating.
• Complete mise en place for service.
• Take responsibility for tasks and deadlines.
• Seek feedback and training from senior chefs.
• Assist with team meals, respecting dietary needs.
