Job summary

Protocol is seeking an experienced Chef Lecturer to deliver catering and hospitality training to Further Education learners at a short-term assignment in Birmingham. The role focuses on practical kitchen skills and theory, with an emphasis on employability and portfolio development.

Schedule: Thursday and Friday teaching blocks plus admin time (approx 6.5 hours per week). Hourly pay between £25-£27, immediate start available. Right to work in the UK and DBS checks may be required.

Qualifications

  • Relevant professional chef or catering qualification.
  • Industry experience in professional kitchens or hospitality.
  • Ability to teach and motivate Further Education learners.
  • Strong knowledge of food preparation, kitchen operations, and food safety.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging practical kitchen skills sessions.
  • Teach relevant catering and hospitality theory.
  • Support learners in building and completing portfolios.
  • Deliver Skills for Success and employability-related activities.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety, and food hygiene within practical learning environments.
  • Complete required administrative duties, including learner tracking and documentation.
