Job summary

The Football Association (The FA) seeks a Chief Technology Officer to shape and lead its technology strategy and execution. Reporting to the CEO, you will drive transformation, data, AI, and security across a large, consumer-facing organisation with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Strong track record of developing and delivering technology strategies within complex organisations.
• Commercial and financial acumen to connect technology investment to performance and revenue growth.
• Experience leading transformation across enterprise technology, digital products, data, infrastructure and cloud.
• Deep understanding of AI applications with governance and risk management.
• Ability to translate business needs into a focused, scalable roadmap.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity, data protection and regulatory resilience.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver an ambitious technology transformation strategy aligned with organisational and commercial priorities.
• Lead a prioritised technology roadmap balancing immediate operational needs with long-term transformation and growth.
• Develop and optimise enterprise systems, platforms and infrastructure with security and scalability.
• Shape and deliver a data strategy that supports decision-making and growth.
• Champion responsible adoption of AI with governance and risk controls.
• Provide executive leadership on cybersecurity, data privacy, business continuity and technology risk.
• Collaborate with the Chief Digital Officer to deliver a digital product roadmap and joined-up experiences.
• Lead the selection and management of strategic technology partners for value and cost.
