Job summary

The Football Association is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to shape and lead its technology strategy, reporting to the CEO and serving on the executive team. The role encompasses strategy, data, AI, infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity and innovation across a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.

Location is Wembley Stadium, London with a hybrid working model. The CTO will transform technology, drive revenue growth and ensure governance across risk, privacy and continuity

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering technology strategies in complex organisations.
• Ability to connect technology investment to commercial performance.
• Experience leading transformation across enterprise tech, data, infra and cloud.
• Strong governance and risk management in AI.
• Experience building and leading high-performing tech teams.
• Excellent communication with the Board and executives.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver an organisation-wide technology vision covering strategy, data, AI, infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity and innovation.
• Lead a prioritised technology roadmap that balances operational needs with long-term growth.
• Lead the development of secure, scalable enterprise systems, platforms and infrastructure.
• Shape and deliver an organisation-wide data strategy.
• Champion the responsible adoption of AI, with appropriate governance and risk controls.
• Provide executive leadership across cybersecurity, data privacy, business continuity and technology risk.
• Work with the Chief Digital Officer to deliver the digital product roadmap.
• Select and manage strategic technology partners, and lead a high-performing technology team.
