Join our dynamic Radiology team as a Band 6 Senior Radiographer specialising in CT and MRI. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Radiographer to work across two advanced imaging modalities within one of the largest diagnostic services in Wales.
As a Senior Radiographer, you will play a key role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused CT and MRI service, undertaking a wide range of examinations including trauma, emergency, inpatient, outpatient and specialist imaging procedures. Working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will use your clinical expertise to provide safe, effective imaging while supporting service development and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology, contribute to training and mentoring colleagues and students, and participate in service innovation. As a Senior CT/MRI Radiographer, you will independently undertake a wide range of CT and MRI examinations, ensuring high standards of image quality, patient safety and compassionate care. You will assess patient suitability for examinations, administer contrast media in accordance with local protocols, and adapt imaging techniques to meet individual clinical needs.
You will be expected to use your specialist knowledge and professional judgement to prioritise workloads, evaluate image quality, recognise significant findings requiring urgent escalation, and support the efficient delivery of the service. The role involves working closely with Radiologists, referring clinicians and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient management.
A key aspect of the role is supporting the education, supervision and mentoring of Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and student learners. You will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, protocol development and service improvement projects, helping to shape the future of CT and MRI services across the Health Board.
