Job summary

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) North Wales is seeking a Band 6 Senior Radiographer specializing in CT and MRI to deliver high-quality imaging across trauma, emergency, inpatient and outpatient pathways.

You will work independently and with a multidisciplinary team, supporting education, mentoring colleagues and driving service improvement within a forward-looking department committed to patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• BSc in Radiography or equivalent; HCPC registration; relevant Post Graduate diploma or equivalent experience; evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Masters qualification in CT or MRI (Desirable).
• Significant radiographic experience with specialist knowledge of diagnostic imaging practice, radiation legislation, clinical governance and patient safety.
• Experience across acute and emergency imaging; training others and working across imaging modalities.
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication and organisational skills; ability to lead and motivate others.
• Desirable: experience in Welsh language or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Independently undertake a wide range of CT and MRI examinations with high standards of image quality and patient safety.
• Assess patient suitability, administer contrast media per local protocols and tailor imaging techniques to clinical need.
• Prioritise workloads, evaluate image quality and escalate significant findings promptly.
• Collaborate with Radiologists and multidisciplinary teams to support timely patient management.
• Educate, supervise and mentor Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and students; contribute to audits and service improvement.
