Family Support Worker

Cheshire East Council is seeking dedicated Family Support Workers to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a team committed to supporting young people aged 10-18 to remain within their families and reduce the risk of exploitation.

Grade: CEC NJC - Grade 7

Salary: £29,269 - £32,076 per annum

Hours per week: 37

Weeks per year: 52.143

Employment Type: Permanent

The team supports young people through a 7-day rota, providing crucial support during times when families and young people need assistance most. Key activities include:

  • Working with young people to reduce exploitation risks through 1:1 sessions.
  • Supporting families to recognize and mitigate risks.
  • Collaborating with agencies to strengthen family networks for sustainable change.
  • Capturing and utilizing the voices and experiences of children and young people to inform service delivery.

Person Specification:

  • Must have access to own vehicle due to role requirements.
  • Ability to work part of a weekend rota.
  • Effective workload management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build partnership links.
  • Passionate, flexible, and committed to high-quality service delivery.
  • Confidence in recognizing and responding to safeguarding concerns.
