Job summary

NHS England is seeking a Head of Cyber Security – CSOC Innovation & Improvements in Leeds to lead cross-team initiatives across Engineering, Security Ops and Threat Ops. The role ensures cyber resilient architectures and oversees development of innovative security solutions within the CSOC.

The post emphasises leadership, incident management, disaster recovery planning and stakeholder engagement with national health partners.

Qualifications

• Extensive ISOC modules, processes and technologies knowledge.
• Strong innovation mindset with ability to improve CSOC performance.
• Deep SIEM knowledge and ability to apply it to protect networks.
• Experience guiding internal/external clients in cyber security contexts.
• Knowledge of digital forensics methods for IT security incidents.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-team initiatives across CSOC, including Engineering, Security Ops and Threat Ops.
• Line-manage the Innovation and Improvement team.
• Coordinate complex incidents and investigations during large-scale events.
• Identify and drive CSOC improvement activities for service delivery.
• Provide specialist expertise in Threat Ops, Protective Monitoring, Security Engineering and Incident Management.
• Keep up with security trends, research threats and mitigations.
• Use analytic tools to analyze threat patterns and vulnerabilities.
• Present to senior leaders.
• Maintain Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
• Manage Lessons Learned and post-incident activities.
• Represent CSOC in Risk Governance meetings.
• Act as cyber SME for external improvement programmes.
• Develop stakeholder relationships across health sector, X-Gov and suppliers.
