Job summary

University of Warwick’s Semiconductor Research Group is seeking a Research Fellow with advanced experimental skills in semiconductor materials science and cryogenic electrical characterization. You’ll perform I–V, C–V and G–V measurements from room temperature to ~2 K and integrate results with TEM, XRD and AFM analyses.

The role supports an EPSRC–NSF project with Caltech and focuses on SiGe epitaxial heterostructures and HBT performance, with on-site lab work and collaboration across

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent with strong experimental semiconductor experience.
• Experience with cryogenic electrical measurements from room temp to ~2 K.
• Ability to interpret I–V, C–V, G–V data and identify non-ideal effects.
• Experience with XTEM/TEM, AFM and materials characterization.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform and interpret I–V, C–V and G–V measurements across temperatures room temperature down to ~2 K.
• Integrate electrical data with structural characterization (XTEM, TEM, HR‑XRD, AFM).
• Contribute to interpretation and optimisation of SiGe epitaxial heterostructures.
