Job summary

Crystal Cruises seeks a Junior Refrigeration Engineer to join the Engine department aboard a ship. Embarkation is ASAP with a contract of 6 months +/- 1 month, performing maintenance and repair of HVAC, refrigeration, ventilation, and related systems to meet company and health standards.

The role requires STCW 95, refrigeration knowledge, and the ability to work in confined ship spaces, coordinating with Hotel/Engineering teams and reporting to the Hotel or HVAC Engineer.

Qualifications

• Valid STCW 95 certification.
• Appropriate certification as required by regulations.
• Good knowledge of refrigeration system, AC distribution systems and ability to solve AC issues in cabins and public spaces.
• Consistent job experience as ship refrigeration fitter with screw and centrifugal compressors.
• Licensed to handle refrigerant gases.
• Physically and medically fit.
• Public Health, Sanitation and Environmental training courses are appreciated.
• Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings and manuals.
• Alaska experience is a plus.
• It is recommended to have Public Health, Coast Guard and Port State Control experience.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance, operation, repair and ownership of ship HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple areas.
• Coordinate with hotel/technical departments to ensure smooth operation.
• Lead daily reporting and temperature verification for AC systems.
• Maintain stock of spare parts and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
