Job summary

Carnival Corporation & PLC in Southampton seeks a Maritime Design Engineer (Shipbuilding) to support engineering workstreams across shipbuilding programmes. You will drive design development, ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and brand requirements, and contribute to classification submissions and approvals.

You will collaborate with shipyards, internal teams and stakeholders to resolve design issues, prepare calculations and technical documentation, and drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Essential: degree in mechanical/naval/structural engineering or related field.
• Experience in marine engineering design and drawing management.
• Understanding of international standards and technical compliance requirements.
• Experience contributing to multi-disciplinary engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering design across programmes with shipyards, internal teams and brand stakeholders.
• Ensure designs meet project and brand requirements and regulatory standards.
• Support classification and regulatory submissions and approvals.
• Produce and review engineering documentation and calculations for design validation.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardisation across vessels and programmes.
