Morgan Hunt is recruiting an experienced Homelessness Outreach Worker for a 6-week temporary cover in Croydon. The role focuses on practical support, advice and guidance to help individuals secure accommodation and linked services.

The post requires outreach work with people experiencing homelessness or at risk, strong communication, and a person-centred approach. It is an on-site, short-term assignment with holiday pay included.

Qualifications

• Experience working with people experiencing homelessness or rough sleeping.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Person-centred, non-judgemental approach is required.
• Good knowledge of housing and homelessness services.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with vulnerable adults and complex needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out street-based outreach and engage with people experiencing homelessness.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with service users.
• Assess needs and identify appropriate support pathways.
• Provide advice on housing, benefits, health and other supports.
• Liaise with local authorities, housing providers and partner agencies.
• Support access to accommodation and relevant services.
• Maintain accurate case notes and records.
• Promote safety, wellbeing and independence.
