Job description

This role is responsible for specialist payroll support in the delivery of the UK and Crown Dependency payrolls. The role manages critical payroll activity to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of the monthly payroll, including:

  • Running gross to net calculations
  • Providing input to change projects (business and government led)
  • Administering legislative documentation such as P60 and P11D

The role also involves managing escalations for the tier 2 payroll team, offering guidance and support to resolve issues.

To be successful, you must have:

  • Extensive payroll administration experience at an expert level
  • Decision-making skills that account for policy, legislation, and operational performance
  • Proven success in driving process and procedural change initiatives

Additional key skills include risk management, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital/technological proficiency.

Contract Details: 12 Months Full-Time Contract - Northampton

Purpose of the role:

Manage payroll functions, including calculating employee pay, withholding taxes, maintaining accurate records, and resolving complex pay queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll for various employee types, calculating taxes and contributions
  • Administering payroll records and troubleshooting issues
  • Providing guidance to employees on payroll matters
  • Ensuring statutory compliance and filings
  • Leading and supporting team development and resource allocation
  • Partnering with other functions and managing risks
