Daniel Owen Ltd in London is seeking a Critical Facilities Technician to maintain high‑availability mechanical and electrical systems in a data centre environment. You will oversee UPS, generators, switchgear, and cooling systems to ensure continuous operation and safety.

The role requires NVQ Level 3+ or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering, plus strong experience with UPS, cooling systems, and BMS monitoring. A career path can lead to senior technician or supervisory roles.

Formación

• Electrical or Mechanical engineering qualification is required.
• Strong understanding of UPS, generators, switch gear, and cooling systems.
• Experience in critical environments such as data centres or hospitals preferred.
• Ability to read technical drawings and follow SOPs/EOPs.
• Desirable: HV switching experience and F-Gas certification.

Responsabilidades

• Perform routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems.
• Monitor BMS systems and respond to alarms.
• Support load testing, switching operations, and emergency procedures.
• Maintain cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units and chillers.

Critical Facilities Technician | London | £45,000-£65,000

Critical Facilities Technicians ensure the mechanical and electrical systems powering the data centre run flawlessly.

You’ll manage high‑availability infrastructure including UPS, generators, switch-gear, cooling systems, and fire suppression. This role is ideal for candidates with strong M&E backgrounds who want to work in a precision‑driven, mission‑critical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems
• Monitor BMS systems and respond to alarms
• Support load testing, switching operations, and emergency procedures
• Maintain cooling systems including CRAC/CRAH units and chillers
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and operational standards
• Work closely with engineering teams during upgrades and expansions

Qualifications Required

• Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3+, City & Guilds, 18th Edition)
