Job summary

NTT Global Data Centers is seeking a Critical Facilities Maintenance Day Engineer - Mechanical or Electrical for our LON1 site in Dagenham, London. You will plan, manage and deliver facilities maintenance across our data centers, ensuring top performance and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (Electrical/Mechanical/Building services).
• 2–5 years trade experience.
• Clean UK driving licence.
• BS7858 security checks.
• IOSH Managing Safety.
• Legionella awareness.
• IPAF/PASMA certification.
• LV/HV authorised person (eagerness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and implement delivery of Facilities Maintenance services to Data Centers.
• Provide engineering services and guidance on property matters affecting management and development of Data Centers.
• Provide customer-focused service and planned/reactive maintenance to meet SLAs.
• Record and report maintenance activities; diagnose faults and root causes.
• Monitor BMS alarms and maintain equipment performance for critical services.
• Assist with incident management and technical investigations.
• Support Shift Engineering Teams to ensure correct operation of critical services.
• Maintain records, logs, reports, and system documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors ensuring safety standards.
• Utilize relevant NTT data operational digital platforms.

Responsibilities

• As the Critical Facilities Maintenance (CFM) Day Engineer - Mechanical or Electrical, you will plan, manage and implement the delivery of Facilities Maintenance services to our Data Centers ensuring operational performance is always maintained to the highest possible standards. Provide engineering services and guidance in general on property matters affecting the on-going management and development of the Data Centers.
• Providing a customer focused service and a high standard of planned preventative and reactive maintenance to ensure timely completion of PPM's and reactive work to SLA's
• Accurately recording and reporting of maintenance activities including identifying faults and accurately diagnosing root causes
• Monitoring BMS alarms and maintaining equipment performance to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the Data Centers
• Assisting with incident management and subsequent technical investigations to establish root cause
• Supporting the Shift Engineering Teams to ensure correct operation of the critical services of the Data Centers
• Maintain accurate records, including logs, reports, system documentation.
• Coordinate with third-party vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs and installations ensuring compliance with company safety standards.
• Utilization of relevant NTT data operational digital platforms

Requirements

• As the Critical Facilities Maintenance (CFM) Day Engineer - Mechanical or Electrical, you will plan, manage and implement the delivery of Facilities Maintenance services to our Data Centers ensuring operational performance is always maintained to the highest possible standards. Provide engineering services and guidance in general on property matters affecting the on-going management and development of the Data Centers.
• The role is full time Monday to Friday based at our LON1 site in Dagenham.
• Experience in facilities, operations or engineering; in a Data Centre critical environment
• Working knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within Business-Critical Environments
• Creating and developing SOP and EOP documentation and other related/similar processes
• A good understanding of BMS/SCADA monitoring systems
• Ability to discuss and understand technical problems and resolutions with engineering specialists.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
• Good analytical/ problem solving skills
• The ability to communicate effectively at all levels with good relationship building skills
• Self-motivated and keen to develop, with a willingness and desire to learn
• Clean full driving license valid for use in the UK
• To undergo full security checks to BS7858:2019
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (including recognized apprenticeship) with either an electrical or mechanical or building services.
• Minimum of 2-5 years trade experience.
• Intermediate level of computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong Knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, including generators, switchgear, chillers, HVAC
• Experience in a Data Centre or a related critical infrastructure industry
