Job summary

East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Band 3 Technician/CSW to join the Conquest Critical Care team. The role provides essential technical support in assessment and management of critically ill patients within a 14-bed unit (6 Level 3 ITU, 4 Level 2 HDU, 4 Enhanced Care).

The post requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. Other duties include equipment preparation, decontamination, stock management, and assisting

Qualifications

Healthcare technician/CSW role requiring careful observation and safety checks.
Experience supporting critical care teams and caring for patients and families.
Ability to work well in fast-paced, multidisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

Performing essential safety checks within the department.
Supporting distribution of stores and supplies and stock management.
Preparing and decontaminating specialist Critical Care equipment per guidelines.
Maintaining clinical equipment in liaison with medical engineering.
Assisting staff with manual handling of complex patients and therapies delivery.
Providing technical support in assessment and management of Critical Care patients.
Undertaking cannulation, venepuncture, arterial sampling, ECGs, catheterisation as requested.
Documenting care notes, diaries, observations and fluid balance accurately.
Ensuring up-to-date compliance with Trust mandatory training; access to staff benefits.
