Job Description:

The Here For You service provides support to individuals who are struggling to cope and may have thoughts of self-harm or suicide, especially during evenings. The service operates 7 nights a week, 365 days a year, supporting people aged 16 or older across Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield.

Responsibilities:
  • Work alongside emergency services, primary care, statutory, and third-sector community services to provide appropriate support, aiming to reduce reliance on A&E and section 136 suites.
  • Deliver 1-to-1 support to de-escalate crises, listen to immediate concerns, and provide a calming, inclusive space for individuals to express themselves.
  • Develop distraction and coping techniques to empower self-management and prevent future crises.
Requirements:

We seek candidates with lived experience and support experience for individuals with emotional distress, including those at risk of suicide and self-harm, and supporting BAME and LGBTQ+ communities.
