Job summary

Wiltshire Police seek experienced Criminal Intelligence Researchers for a 12-month fixed term contract, based at HQ Devizes. The role focuses on gathering, evaluating and presenting information to support serious investigations, with excellent attention to detail and collaborative working across agencies.

You will produce intelligence products, review forensic data, and manage information across internal and external databases, engaging with stakeholders as required.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification to demonstrate research capability or proven equivalent experience is essential.
• You must have previous professional research experience.
• You must have experience of utilising different forms of software packages.
• You must have experience of handing confidential information.
• You must be computer literate with experience of updating both manual and computer records.
• You should have experience of liaising with a range of departments, agencies, and organisations.

Responsibilities

• Collating, analysing and developing intelligence to support the SIO objectives.
• Gathering and evaluating information to determine its intelligence potential and identify any threats, risks or opportunities.
• Gather and use intelligence to support operational priorities within the investigation.
• Compiling detailed written reports and statements of evidence.
• Undertaking actions as directed by the Senior Investigating Officer or Case Manager.
• Updating manual and computer records where required for the purposes of the investigation.
