Job summary

CricViz, part of Ellipse, seeks a highly skilled Data Scientist to develop proprietary metrics and predictive models from world-class cricket data. You will transform high-frequency tracking data into production-grade analytics for professional clients, surfacing match states and player indicators.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related quantitative field with ML/statistics grounding.
• 2+ years applying data science methods in end-to-end pipelines (feature engineering, training, deployment, validation).
• Strong Python and SQL skills plus PyData stack proficiency.
• A deep understanding of cricket and match state factors (win probability, xR/xW).
• Experience with high-frequency tracking or GPS data for insights.
• Ability to translate complex modelling into commercial value; IP protection awareness.

Responsibilities

• Research and develop high-value metrics from raw tracking data.
• Lead bespoke client collaborations for custom models and datasets.
• Productise data science models for production use.
• Oversee back testing and model validation for reliability.
• Collaborate with engineering/product to deliver feeds into client workflows.
• Develop analytics for cricket, broadcasting, fantasy, gaming and betting contexts.
