Are you someone who has a good understanding of credit ratings across various asset types and experience working in Corporate credit within an asset manager, rating agency, or financial institution?

Aviva is expanding its internal credit rating team within the IWR Finance Function. This role will collaborate with colleagues from the Annuity Asset Origination, Chief Investment Officer, and Aviva Investor teams, depending on the asset class. The internal credit rating team reports to the IWR Actuarial Reserving Lead, who supports the UK IWR Chief Actuary, responsible for the regulatory oversight of internal credit ratings.

A bit about the job:

The role involves assessing and developing new and existing internal credit methodologies to ensure compliance with the UK IWR Credit Rating Policy and relevant regulations. Responsibilities include reviewing methodologies, conducting assurance testing, presenting findings to expert panels and committees, and reviewing operational controls and governance of asset managers to ensure effectiveness, with recommendations for improvements.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Good understanding of credit ratings across different asset types
• Relevant undergraduate degree in economics, finance, accounting, or a related field
• Solid understanding of credit analysis fundamentals
• Strong knowledge of credit rating methodologies
• Experience in Corporate credit within an asset manager, rating agency, or financial institution
