Job summary

IG Group is seeking a Credit Operations Lead in the UK to oversee the day-to-day management of the Credit Operations team, ensuring accurate credit risk, margin, client classification, and debt management in line with regulatory requirements.

You will lead coaching and development, ensure robust controls, and act as the senior escalation point for complex client queries while driving continuous improvement and strong stakeholder collaboration as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in credit operations or risk within financial services.
• Experience leading or supervising a team and delivering through others.
• Solid understanding of margin and credit risk concepts and FCA framework including Consumer Duty.
• Strong control mindset with first-line controls and audit support experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and ability to handle difficult client conversations.
• Strong analytical ability to interpret data and provide clear recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the Credit Operations team with clear objectives and KPIs.
• Oversee client margin calls, settlements and close-out activity with timely, well-documented decisions.
• Manage client credit exposure, approvals and periodic reviews within delegated authority.
• Oversee client classification processes to ensure FCA compliance and policy alignment.
• Direct debt management, repayment arrangements and third-party escalations.
• Maintain first-line risk controls, identify issues and coordinate remediation.
• Act as escalation point for complex client queries and complaints relating to credit and margin.
• Produce and present daily/weekly/monthly MI to senior stakeholders and support audits.
• Collaborate across Compliance, Risk, Finance, Dealing, Legal and Account Management for improvements.
