Wintermann Search is seeking a Credit Officer to manage loan applications, assess clients' financials, and draft loan documentation within regulated banking practices. The role requires a solid understanding of lending procedures and strong customer service experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years credit experience.
  • Sound knowledge of general banking, relevant regulatory requirements, the Banking Act and Code of Practice.
  • Sound credit judgement.
  • A responsible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible approach to work.
  • A demonstrable ability to work carefully and accurately at all times.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant risk, compliance and audit standards.
  • Excellent understanding of credit processes and procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as this role interfaces across service providers, clients, branches and other bank departments

Responsibilities

  • Completes annual reviews, modifications, extensions, renewals, and new loan requests for customers with minimal required changes from the credit approvers.
  • Draft loan documentation in accordance with approved terms.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between teams including Branch/Relationship managers and Risk Management.
  • Maintain client credit files and ensure proper filing system.
  • Set credit limits and draft all customer loan documentation.
  • Liaise with solicitors and valuation firms.
  • Identify opportunities for improved business operations and client satisfaction.
  • Manage internal credit correspondence, risk analysis, and customer rating assessments.
  • Coordinate loan renewals and follow-up with clients and branches.
  • Monitor loan application progress and relay hindrances to clients.
  • Prepare Credit MI and reports for management.

Job description

Credit Officer responsibilities include preparing loan applications, evaluating clients’ financial information, calculating risk ratios,maintaining client credit files and preparing loan documentation. To be successful in this role, you should have a good understanding of lending procedures and customer service experience.Ultimately, you will help our clients acquire loans in a timely manner, while ensuring the Bank comply with the regulations.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities
  • Completes annual reviews, modifications, extensions, renewals, and new loan requests for customers with minimal required changes fromthe credit approvers
  • Draft loan documentation in accordance with approved terms
  • Ensure effective collaboration between teams including Branch/Relationship managers and Risk Management.
  • Able to demonstrate good knowledge of filing system and maintenance of client credit files
  • Setting credit limits
  • Drafting all customers loan documentation
  • Liasing with solicitor and valuation firms
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improved business operations, partnerships and client satisfaction.
  • Responsible for all internal credit correspondence originated by their team, including transactions, the ongoing risk analysis of theborrower and the transaction, customer rating assessment and recommendation. Work with internal partners to implement controls and meet monitoring conditions.
  • Managing loan renewals by organizing follow-up meetings with clients and branches.
  • Monitoring the progress of the loan application process and relaying any hindrances to clients
  • Managing Credit MI and producing reports for management.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge
Candidate Profile/Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years credit experience.
  • Sound knowledge of general banking, relevant regulatory requirements, the Banking Act and Code of Practice.
  • Sound credit judgement.
  • A responsible, enthusiastic, self-motivated and flexible approach to work
  • A demonstrable ability to work carefully and accurately at all times.
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant risk, compliance and audit standards.
  • Advanced Excel skill, ideally VBA knowledge
  • Good data analysis skills
  • Excellent understanding of credit processes and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills are essential as this role interfaces across service providers, clients, branches and other bankdepartments

  • Timely submission of internal & external reports.
  • Timely completion of own and departmental work
  • On track with targets in relation to completion rate for Credit Reviews and approvals.
