Job summary

REED are exclusively working with a Bournemouth based family Construction business recruiting a Credit Controller to join a small, friendly team. The role is full-time, office-based from 9am-5pm with onsite parking. Salary £14.28 per hour.

Responsibilities include processing receipts, taking card payments, credit checks, account opening, chasing overdue accounts and maintaining records. Benefits include pension, life assurance, and 24 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in Credit Control or have good telephone skills to learn.
• Be methodical, have good attention to detail and able to multi task.
• Must have knowledge of Excel & Word.
• Be able to work and support team members and use on own initiative.
• Good admin skills and able to work quickly, efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Process and allocate receipts for Bacs & Cheques.
• Take payments over the phone & process card payments on the PDQ machine and on the in-house system.
• Reconcile unallocated cash.
• Credit check new applications & requests for credit limit increases using Experian / Top Service.
• Open new accounts.
• Chase overdue accounts by telephone/email (approx. 500-600 per month per person).
• Answer incoming calls from Branches & Customers.
• Update and maintain notes on the system when a customer or branch calls.
• Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
• Ensure debts are paid in-line with the credit control collection timetable.
• Monitor Credit Control mailbox.
• Change addresses, telephone & and account settings when required.
• Liaise with all branches/branch managers to resolve disputes.
