Downey Osborne is seeking a Credit Controller to join a busy Finance team in Belfast City Centre. The role suits someone with credit control experience who enjoys managing outstanding balances and taking ownership of their workload.

You will work with colleagues across the business to resolve queries and ensure payments are received within agreed terms. The position offers variety, responsibility and the chance to develop experience within a stable, growing organisation with flexi time and 31

Qualifications

• Credit control or similar finance experience.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proactive and self-motivated with good communication.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong IT skills including Word and Excel.
• Experience with finance/accounting systems.
• Knowledge of credit control processes and procedures.
• Knowledge or experience of the small claims process is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage outstanding customer accounts and ensure payments are received within agreed terms.
• Send invoices and statements to customers.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date debtor records.
• Reconcile and maintain customer accounts.
• Liaise with customers regarding outstanding balances and payment queries.
• Work with internal departments to resolve account issues.
• Ensure relevant records and documentation are maintained accurately.
• Carry out credit checks on new and existing customers.
• Establish and review appropriate credit terms.
• Prepare aged debt reports and provide information to management.
• Negotiate payment terms where appropriate.
• Follow up overdue accounts by telephone, email and other methods.
• Identify potential credit risks and take appropriate action.
