Job summary

RG Setsquare is seeking a Credit Controller for a construction-focused business in East London, serving projects around the London and M25 corridor. The role supports the accounting team and Finance Director with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate records and timely cash collection on contracts ranging from £2m to £12m.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in accounting or finance roles within construction, strong organisational skills, and the ability to collaborate

Qualifications

• Proven experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably in construction.
• Experience with double entry bookkeeping and payroll.
• Knowledge of CIS, IR35 and subcontractor payments.
• Familiarity with Sage 50 accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Support the accounting department and Finance Director with day-to-day financial operations.
• Ensure accurate record-keeping and timely reconciliations.
• Manage debt collection, credit control, and subcontractor payments.
• Perform payroll processing and banking reconciliation.
• Assist with IR35 and CIS compliance.

Job description

I am currently looking for a Credit Controller for a Construction based company in East London who work in and around the London and the M25 area with a current turnover of £70 million. Projects include new build, refurbishment & fit out works within commercial, healthcare, education and residential on projects ranging between £2 to £12 million.

The Credit Controller will support the accounting department & Finance Director by assisting with day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, and contributing to the smooth running of the company’s financial activities. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments within the company.

Key Responsibilities

The candidate must have experience in the below -

• Proven experience in an accounting or finance assistant role, preferably within the construction industry.
