Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a finance professional to support the Chesterfield site’s financial operations. The role focuses on credit control, sales ledger management, and accurate general ledger postings to strengthen cash flow and reduce financial risk.

You will contribute to monthly reporting, assist with journals, and provide insights to support business performance. A varied role offering development and a collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control and accounts receivable.
• Experience with general ledger and journal postings.
• Proficient in financial reporting and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage debt collection and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Investigate and resolve customer invoice and payment queries.
• Monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, and conduct regular credit reviews.
• Set up new customer accounts and assess credit risk.
• Implement credit control procedures, including recommending account stops where necessary.
• Maintain, administer, and reconcile the Sales Ledger and General Ledger.
• Record and allocate cash receipts accurately.
• Produce regular, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports.
• Analyse financial data and accounts for management reporting and audit purposes.
• Prepare and post journals, including those outside of credit management activities.
• Support sales and operational teams by providing information on customer payment performance and credit issues.
• Manage customer invoicing portals and resolve invoice rejections promptly.
• Provide departmental cover during holidays and sickness absence.
• Assist with additional finance and reporting tasks as required by management.
