Job summary

Smurfit Westrock, a global leader in sustainable paper and packaging, is seeking a Finance professional for our Chesterfield site. The role focuses on credit control, sales ledger management, and detailed financial reporting to support business performance.

You will proactively manage debt collection, monitor cash flow, reconcile ledgers, and prepare journals to ensure accurate month-end close. The position requires strong analytical skills and teamwork to assist sales and operations.

Qualifications

• Proactively manage debt collection and maintain positive customer relationships.
• Investigate and resolve customer invoice and payment queries.
• Monitor customer credit limits, payment terms, and conduct regular credit reviews.
• Set up new customer accounts and assess credit risk.
• Implement credit control procedures, including recommending account stops where necessary.
• Maintain, administer, and reconcile the Sales Ledger and General Ledger.
• Record and allocate cash receipts accurately.
• Produce regular, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports.
• Analyse financial data and accounts for management reporting and audit purposes.
• Prepare and post journals, including those outside of credit management activities.
• Support sales and operational teams by providing information on customer payment performance and credit issues.
• Manage customer invoicing portals and resolve invoice rejections promptly.
• Provide departmental cover during holidays and sickness absence.
• Assist with additional finance and reporting tasks as required by management.
