Job summary

Wade Macdonald, on behalf of our client in Uxbridge, is seeking an experienced Temporary Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a hybrid basis.

You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, chase payments by phone and email, and help keep debtor records accurate to support cash-flow forecasting.

The role requires 2–3 years in credit control, solid Excel skills, and a proactive approach to resolving queries and improving processes.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years' experience in credit control or finance collections.
• Experience in high-volume AR environment preferred.
• Intermediate Excel skills required.
• Experience with MS Dynamics/Great Plains advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage outstanding customer balances and secure payment by telephone and email.
• Review aged debt and reconcile customer accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Investigate invoice queries and work with internal teams to achieve timely resolutions.
• Keep accurate records of collection activity, customer details and disputed invoices.
• Produce debtor statements and provide regular updates on anticipated receipts to support cash-flow forecasting.
• Allocate credit notes and receipts while investigating underpayments and foreign currency differences.
• Prepare regular and ad-hoc credit control reports for the wider finance team.
• Respond to internal and external queries relating to customer accounts and transactions.
• Support the assessment and set-up of new debtor accounts.
• Escalate persistent non-payment appropriately, including supporting recovery or legal action where necessary.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency within the credit control function.

About the Job

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance function, taking responsibility for a portfolio of customer accounts. About the Successful Applicant

You will have 2–3 years' experience within credit control or finance collections, ideally gained in a high-volume Accounts Receivable environment. You will be organised, proactive and comfortable working to deadlines, with strong communication and attention to detail. Intermediate Excel skills are required, while multinational, foreign currency and Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains experience would be advantageous.
