Job summary

Trade Mastermind in Peterborough is seeking a commercially minded Credit Controller to own the credit control cycle, chase payments, and protect cash flow while maintaining strong client relationships. This fully office-based role requires confident communication and effective negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the credit control cycle, driving timely and consistent customer payments
• Build strong, professional relationships with clients, using influence and rapport to secure payment commitments
• Proactively chase overdue invoices through confident phone-based and written communication
• Negotiate payment plans where appropriate, balancing commercial outcomes with customer retention
• Monitor customer accounts and assess non-payment risk
• Investigate and resolve invoice queries or disputes quickly to remove barriers to payment
• Produce debtor reports as required
• Collaborate with internal teams to generate solutions for continues uninterrupted payments

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded, persuasive Credit Controller who enjoys building relationships, influencing outcomes, and taking ownership of cash collection.

This role is ideal for someone who is confident on the phone, comfortable negotiating payment in a professional manner. You will play a critical role in protecting cash flow while maintaining strong, long‑term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
