Job description

Credit Controller (Part Time)

Location: Horsforth, Leeds
Salary: £26k to £32k (pro rata)
Hours: Part Time – with lots of flexibility on when you carry out your tasks

About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established and growing business based in Horsforth, Leeds, is looking to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their friendly finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a part‑time role with genuine flexibility around working hours, making it ideal for candidates looking to balance work with other commitments.

We're looking for someone who enjoys building positive relationships, isn't afraid to pick up the phone, and takes pride in ensuring customers pay on time while maintaining excellent levels of customer service. The opportunity is simple: we want someone who knows that chasing cash in is one of the most important functions for a finance team and enjoys doing that.

Credit Controller – The Role

As Credit Controller, you'll be responsible for managing the sales ledger and ensuring outstanding invoices are collected promptly. You'll play a key role in maintaining healthy cash flow while developing professional relationships with customers. It is really important you see the role as being on the phone. A lot of the email chasing is automated and what's needed is relationship building and chasing over the phone.

  • Chasing outstanding invoices via telephone.
  • Building strong relationships with customers to encourage prompt payment.
  • Managing your own portfolio of customer accounts.
  • Resolving invoice queries quickly and efficiently by liaising with internal departments.
  • Negotiating payment plans where appropriate.
  • Allocating incoming payments accurately.
  • Maintaining accurate customer account records.
  • Producing aged debt reports and highlighting overdue accounts.
  • Escalating long‑outstanding debts where necessary.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad‑hoc administrative duties.
Credit Controller – About You
  • Previous experience working within a Credit Control position.
  • A confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to build rapport with customers whilst remaining firm when required.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • The ability to prioritise workloads and work independently.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a strong customer service focus.
Credit Controller – What's on Offer
  • Flexible part‑time working hours, structured around your other commitments.
  • Friendly and supportive working environment. Regular social activities. Genuinely great atmosphere.
  • Convenient Horsforth location with onsite parking.
  • Long‑term career stability within an established and successful organisation.

If you're an experienced Credit Controller with a great telephone manner and a passion for ensuring invoices are paid on time, we'd love to hear from you. Apply today to find out more about this fantastic opportunity.
