Job summary

Academia Ltd, based in the UK, is seeking a Credit Controller to manage high-volume ledger activity. You will chase invoices, monitor debt balances, perform credit checks, allocate limits, and support the Finance team.

The role involves serveral daily tasks and collaboration with internal teams and external customers. The ideal candidate will have strong numeracy, attention to detail, and experience with credit control processes, plus proficiency in MS Office and finance systems such as Epicor

• Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with financial information.

• Professional and diplomatic in handling payment queries and challenging conversations.
• Good problem-solving skills to investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
• Independent while contributing to a team.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and finance systems such as Epicor and Xero.

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who enjoys working in a fast paced, dynamic business. The role would suit someone who is analytical and able to resolve problems independently. The Credit Controller will be liaising with internal teams and external customers to ensure invoices are paid on time and the finance team as a whole functions effectively.

This is a high-volume, fast-paced environment, offering an opportunity for the successful candidate to quickly develop their knowledge and make a positive contribution.

Amongst other tasks, you will be responsible for:

• Daily chasing on your assigned ledger.
• Closely monitoring debtor account balances and ensuring our Debtor Sales Outstanding (DSO) metric is always within acceptable limits
• Processing new account applications, including conducting credit checks and allocating appropriate credit limits to accounts when required
• Reconciling accounts
• Posting cash to accounts on a daily basis
• Sending reminder letters and statements on a weekly basis
• Dealing with queries and resolving issues as they arise in a timely manner.
• Dealing with finance related tickets, answering calls and taking customer payments as well as other credit control-related administrative duties.
• Administrative support within the Credit Control team, at times this may also include supporting the wider Finance function.
