Job summary

Premiere Kitchens, based in Hardwicke, Gloucester, is seeking a capable Credit Controller to join the Finance Team. The role focuses on collecting overdue debts, resolving customer queries, posting cash and maintaining ledgers while supporting the smooth operation of the sales ledger.

You will report to the Finance Director and work closely with colleagues across the company. The role is part-time (24–32 hours/week) with a competitive salary and a supportive manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in credit control or a similar finance role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; telephone/m Teams etiquette.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise work.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams).
  • Sage 500 experience is helpful but not essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is beneficial.
  • Any training/qualifications demonstrating credit control competency are advantageous.
  • Experience with trade credit insurance policies is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Collect overdue debts through professional communication with customers.
  • Resolve customer account queries in a timely and accurate way.
  • Post daily cash and support accurate cash allocation.
  • Raise invoices and credit notes as required.
  • Open new customer accounts and maintain records.
  • Monitor credit limits and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Support administration of the sales ledger and credit control processes.
  • Collaborate with Finance and wider team.
  • Perform other finance admin and ad hoc tasks as required.

Job description

At Premiere Kitchens, we have been designing, manufacturing and supplying high-quality kitchens across the UK for over 30 years. Based at our site in Hardwicke, Gloucester, we are proud to employ local skilled people and to deliver cost-effective, design-led solutions tailored to our customers' needs.

We are looking for a competent Credit Controller to join the Premiere Kitchens Finance Team. This is a hands‑on role responsible for supporting the effective management of customer accounts, collecting overdue debts, resolving queries and ensuring the accurate administration of our ledgers.

Position Summary

As Credit Controller, you will play an important role in protecting cashflow, supporting positive customer relationships and helping the Finance Team provide accurate and timely financial information for the business. You will work closely with colleagues across Premiere Kitchens and report to the Finance Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect overdue debts through effective, professional communication with customers.
  • Resolve customer account queries in a timely and accurate way.
  • Complete daily cash posting and support accurate cash allocation.
  • Raise invoices and credit notes as required.
  • Open new customer accounts and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Monitor customer credit limits and escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Support accurate administration of the sales ledger and credit control processes.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and the wider Premiere Kitchens team.
  • Complete other finance administration and ad hoc tasks as required.
About you

We are looking for someone who is organised, accurate and confident communicating, primarily by telephone/Teams with customers and colleagues. You will be comfortable working independently, able to manage competing priorities and committed to providing a professional and helpful service.

  • Relevant experience in a credit control or similar finance role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a confident and professional telephone manner.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office packages, including Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
  • Previous experience of Sage 500 would be helpful, but is not essential.
  • Previous experience of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central would be beneficial.
  • Any technical training and qualifications that demonstrate your Credit Control competency and understanding is beneficial
  • Previous experience of operating a trade credit insurance policy would be beneficial

Other Information

The role is offered on a part‑time basis, working 24 to 32 hours per week (FTE 40hrs); however, for internal candidates currently working full‑time, we would support this as a full‑time position.
