Job description

Credit Controller Temporary to Permanent

Location: Droitwich

Contract: 3-Month Temp (with view to permanent)

Salary: £25,000-£27,000

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established business seeking an experienced Credit Controller to support their finance operations during a busy period. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a real impact in a short-term role, with the potential to become a long-term team member.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the company's accounts receivable, ensuring smooth cash flow, and assisting with general finance and office administration tasks. This full-time position is based at their office in Droitwich.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Managing the credit control function, including proactive chasing of outstanding payments via phone, email, and written correspondence.
  2. Posting sales invoices accurately and within deadlines.
  3. Allocating incoming payments and maintaining up-to-date customer accounts.
  4. Producing aged debt reports and assisting with cash flow forecasting.
  5. Escalating problematic accounts where required (e.g., legal action or debt recovery).
  6. Creating and maintaining customer and supplier accounts in the finance system.
  7. Liaising with internal departments, customers, and suppliers to resolve queries.
  8. Providing general administrative support across the office, including handling phone and email enquiries.
  9. Preparing and distributing customer statements.
What We Are Looking For:
  1. Previous experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or general finance administration.
  2. A proactive and organized approach with strong attention to detail.
  3. Confident communicator capable of managing difficult conversations professionally.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and familiarity with accounting software.
Qualifications:
  1. AAT Level 2 (or equivalent practical experience) is highly desirable.
