Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment (Credit Division) are partnering with a well-established business in Cannock to appoint an experienced Credit Controller. You will own your ledger, negotiate terms, and build strong relationships in a supportive finance function.

The role offers hybrid working (3 days in Cannock, 2 from home), 37.5 hours per week, and a salary of £28,000–£31,000 with a range of benefits. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of your own ledger.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar credit control environment.
• Maths and English at a good standard.
• Excellent telephone manner and customer-first approach.
• Able to work in a team and use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own group of accounts to collect debt quickly and efficiently.
• Evaluate new credit requests and set up terms.
• Review customer credit ratings and follow up on payments.
• Respond to customer queries by phone and email.
• Negotiate repayment plans with customers and ensure compliance.
• Check and post statements to the credit control system.
• Prepare monthly statements of accounts in Excel.
• Raise credits accurately with strong attention to detail.

Credit Controller | Cannock (Hybrid) | £28,000 – £31,000

Alexander Daniels Finance Recruitment (Credit Division) are proud to be working with a well-established and growing business in Cannock to find an experienced Credit Controller to join their team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of your own ledger, with the autonomy to negotiate solutions and really make the role your own within a supportive, established finance function.

The role:

You’ll manage your own portfolio of accounts, taking full responsibility for collecting debt efficiently while building strong working relationships with customers and colleagues alike. It’s a role with genuine variety, from credit assessments through to negotiating repayment plans, and there’s plenty of scope to bring your own initiative to it.

What you’ll be doing:

• Managing your own group of accounts to collect debt quickly and efficiently
• Evaluating new credit requests and setting up terms and conditions
• Reviewing customer credit ratings and following up on payments
• Responding professionally to customer queries by phone and email
• Negotiating repayment plans with customers and ensuring compliance
• Checking and posting statements to the credit control system
• Preparing monthly statements of accounts in Excel
• Raising credits accurately with strong attention to detail

What we’re looking for:

• Proven experience in a similar credit control environment
• A good standard of education, including maths and English
• Excellent telephone manner and a professional, customer-first approach
• Confident working as part of a team as well as using your own initiative
