Job summary

Heap & Co - Accountancy & Finance Recruitment Specialists is assisting a Cambridge business in finding an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team.

The role focuses on owning credit control activities, building strong customer relationships, and supporting day-to-day financial operations within a well-established, forward-thinking organisation. You will report to the Financial Controller and contribute to efficient processes and accurate records.

Qualifications

  • Experience in credit control and accounts administration.
  • Experience with accounting systems and ERPs.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Excel with formulas, Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Self-motivated with a positive, flexible approach to work.
  • Enjoys working as part of a close-knit and collaborative team.

Responsibilities

  • Managing credit control activities, including chasing outstanding invoices and resolving payment queries.
  • Developing positive relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices.
  • Raising and processing customer invoices and payments.
  • Processing employee expense claims.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and updating internal systems.
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks.

Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking to join a growing and supportive business? Our client is seeking a proactive individual to become part of their finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Credit Controller who enjoys building strong customer relationships, managing accounts effectively, and contributing to the success of a well-established and forward-thinking organisation.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Financial Controller you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. You will take ownership of credit control activities while providing wider support across the finance function to ensure processes run efficiently and records remain accurate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing credit control activities, including chasing outstanding invoices and resolving payment queries
  • Developing positive relationships with customers to ensure timely payment of invoices
  • Raising and processing customer invoices and payments
  • Processing employee expense claims
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and updating internal systems
  • Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc tasks
About You

We're looking for someone who has previous experience in a Credit Controller or similar finance role, ideally within a business where they've gained exposure across multiple areas of the accounts function.

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
