We are currently recruiting a talented and collaborative Credit Control Clerk to join our Finance team in Ashford on a permanent basis.

Our Finance colleagues are a central hub of knowledge, and as a Credit Controller, you’ll support your area of the business in every way possible. You will work to find solutions and ensure that everything we do enables us to deliver on our promises to our customers and exceed expectations. You’ll naturally promote and embrace our inclusive team environment, and we’re sure you’ll have some fun along the way!

This role offers flexible hybrid working with 2-3 days based in our Ashford, Kent office for team collaboration and meetings, so you must be within a commutable distance.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
  1. Management of your own portfolio of accounts, ensuring adherence to contractual payment terms and credit limits, mitigating risk and potential bad debts.
  2. Develop and maintain effective working relationships, close collaboration, and communication across all finance teams and internal colleagues.
  3. Provide excellent customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers.
  4. Meet targeted KPIs using department procedures.
  5. Handle incoming calls and record all queries promptly and accurately to support cash collection activity.
  6. Manage queries by providing copies of invoices, proof of delivery, credit notes, and liaising internally to resolve any payment issues.
  7. Attend internal and external customer meetings.
  8. Escalate internal or payment issues with customers to management.
  9. Seek continuous improvement by identifying best practices and effective business controls to positively impact results.
  10. Perform other ad hoc duties as requested by the Team Leader/Manager.
About you:

No previous finance experience is required as training will be provided. As part of the application process, you will complete an online psychometric task sent by the recruitment team.

We are looking for someone with experience working in a fast-paced environment and an interest in Finance or Credit Control. You should be confident using Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups). Strong communication skills are essential as you will be interacting with external customers and internal colleagues at all levels.
