Job summary

Manorview is hiring to supervise the creche and soft play area, ensuring safe, engaging experiences for children while families enjoy their visit. You will carry out safety checks, lead activities and maintain hygiene, with a focus on safeguarding and clear communication with parents.

Essential PVG clearance and at least 2 years in a similar role are required; childcare qualifications are desirable. Weekend and holiday flexibility is expected in a busy hospitality setting.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of child safety and safeguarding.
• Warm, patient and confident with children of all ages; strong communication with families.

Responsibilities

• Supervise creche and soft play areas, maintaining adult-to-child ratios.
• Welcome families, explain play area rules and manage check-in/out.
• Lead age-appropriate play and activities; report hazards and incidents.
• Maintain hygiene and safety of spaces and equipment; follow safeguarding policies.
• Communicate professionally with parents, carers and colleagues.

You will supervise and look after children in our creche and soft play area, making sure they are safe, engaged and happy while their parents and carers enjoy their visit. No two days are the same, and you will be the friendly face families remember.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR…

• Supervise children in the creche and soft play area, maintaining safe adult-to-child ratios at all times
• Welcome families, explain the rules of the play area and manage check-in and check-out procedures
• Lead and encourage age-appropriate play, games and activities
• Carry out regular safety checks of equipment and play spaces, and report any hazards or damage
• Keep the area clean, hygienic and tidy, including sanitising toys, equipment and surfaces
• Respond calmly and appropriately to accidents, illness and behavioural issues, and complete incident records accurately
• Follow all safeguarding, child protection, health and safety, and allergy/dietary policies
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents, carers and colleagues

ARE YOU THE RIGHT PERSON…

Essential

• A valid PVG check
• At least 2 years' experience in a similar role, such as creche worker, soft play attendant, nursery assistant or childcare assistant
• A good understanding of child safety and safeguarding
• Warm, patient and confident with children of all ages
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
• Flexibility to work weekends, evenings and school holidays as required

Desirable

• A childcare qualification
• Experience working in a hospitality or leisure setting
