Job summary

Compass Group UK&I is seeking a motivated Sous Chef in Poole, working Saturdays 7:30am–3:30pm, with an hourly rate of £16. The role requires a Chef de Partie or Sous with a passion for quality food, strong organisation, and leadership to uphold culinary standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will help shape menus, mentor junior staff, and ensure efficient operations, with a focus on sustainability and local sourcing where possible.

Qualifications

• Experience in quality-focused kitchens is essential.
• Ability to lead with confidence and support the Chef Manager.
• Strong organisation, planning, and stock awareness.
• Passion for developing others and maintaining high culinary standards.

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef Manager in delivering high-quality, well-presented dishes.
• Contribute to menu development with emphasis on flavour and nutrition.
• Lead by example to foster a positive, high-performing kitchen culture.
• Assist with ordering, stock control, and kitchen organisation.
• Maintain best-in-class food hygiene and safety standards.
