Job summary

The Independent is seeking a creative Social Media Manager to lead channel management and video publishing across platforms including Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. You will craft engaging social copy, produce eye-catching thumbnails, and help grow digital audiences with data-driven content strategies.

Reporting into the Head of Platform Strategy, you will oversee creator content distribution, drive audience engagement, and ensure timely publishing across our social brands while

Qualifications

• Experience in social media management for brand, publisher or creator accounts.
• Experience in creating visual thumbnail images using image editing software such as Adobe or Canva.
• Experience in creating and editing video content using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Capcut.
• Excellent understanding of social media platforms and their algorithms.
• Strong writing and communication skills for concise social copy.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Content Optimisation and Distribution: Manage end-to-end distribution of social news content across platforms.
• Community & Brand Safety: Moderate comments and drive engagement via Stories and Broadcast channels.
• Content & Strategy: Execute Creator strategy and publish creator content volume optimally; create high-impact social assets.
• Data & Analytics: Monitor performance metrics and run data-driven feedback loops with the team.
