Job description

The Creative Producer will play a key role in taking client projects from initial brief through to concept development, artwork, prototyping, external production and final delivery.

At MAYLR, we specialise in creating, producing, fulfilling and distributing premium PR mailers and creative packaging for some of the world’s leading beauty, cosmetics and lifestyle brands. As our creative and production offering continues to grow, we are looking for a highly organised, commercially minded and creative Creative Producer to join our team at our Kemsing, Sevenoaks site.

Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous experience or a strong understanding of print, packaging and physical production. However, we are also open to candidates from adjacent creative, design, account management or project management backgrounds who demonstrate the right skills, aptitude and enthusiasm to learn. For the right person, we are happy to provide training and support to develop their technical knowledge of print and packaging production.

The Creative Producer will play a key role in taking client projects from initial brief through to concept development, artwork, prototyping, external production and final delivery. They will act as an important link between the client, our external suppliers and our internal teams. This is a varied role requiring someone who is comfortable developing creative ideas, managing multiple projects, communicating with clients and suppliers, and maintaining close control of project costs, deadlines and production quality.

You will work closely with our Client Services and Fulfilment teams across both the UK and US, helping ensure every project is creatively strong, commercially viable and delivered to the high standards expected by MAYLR and our clients.

This is a full-time, permanent position based on-site at our Kemsing, Sevenoaks facility, five days per week.

The Role

Our Creative Producers sit at the centre of the creative and production process, translating client briefs into physical projects that can be successfully manufactured, assembled, fulfilled and distributed. This will include developing creative concepts, preparing or coordinating artwork and prototypes, identifying appropriate suppliers and manufacturing methods, managing external production and coordinating the delivery of finished components into MAYLR for assembly, fulfilment and dispatch.

For candidates joining us without an existing print and packaging background, we will provide training in areas such as production processes, materials, print finishes, dielines, cutter guides, artwork requirements and supplier specifications. The role involves working directly with clients, internal teams and external production partners, requiring excellent communication skills and the confidence to take ownership of projects from beginning to end.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities as our Creative Producer will include, but are not limited to:

Developing creative concepts and design solutions in response to client briefs, ensuring concepts are visually engaging, commercially viable and practical to manufacture, assemble and distribute.

Creating and developing prototypes, mock-ups and samples to test creative concepts before progressing into manufacture.

Reviewing artwork, proofs, prototypes and production samples carefully to ensure accuracy and consistency before projects move into full production.

Communicating professionally and effectively with clients throughout the creative and production process.

Managing client feedback and amendments, ensuring changes are accurately communicated and implemented.

Obtaining and reviewing supplier quotations and identifying the most appropriate production route based on quality, cost, quantity and timing requirements.

Communicating clearly with suppliers regarding artwork, specifications, quantities, materials, production standards and deadlines.

Monitoring production schedules and proactively identifying potential risks or delays before they impact agreed client deadlines.

Coordinating the delivery of finished packaging and project components into MAYLR’s UK or US facilities for subsequent assembly, fulfilment and dispatch.

Maintaining accurate project cost information and ensuring the commercial performance of projects is understood throughout the production process.

Providing clear assembly instructions, approved samples and project specifications to internal fulfilment teams where required.

Maintaining accurate project records, specifications, artwork files, supplier information and production documentation.

Supporting multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail.

Taking ownership of problems as they arise and working proactively with clients, suppliers and internal teams to identify practical solutions.

Requirements

We are looking for someone who combines creativity with exceptional organisation, commercial awareness and a genuine interest in how creative ideas are turned into physical products. Ideally, you will have:

Previous experience within print, packaging, graphic design, creative production, account management or a related creative environment.

An understanding of print, packaging, artwork preparation and external manufacturing processes.

Experience working with physical packaging, printed materials, prototypes or manufactured products.

Familiarity with dielines, cutter guides, print specifications and supplier artwork requirements.

Experience developing or coordinating prototypes, mock-ups or physical samples.

An interest in packaging materials, print finishes and production techniques.

Experience producing creative packaging, influencer mailers, PR mailers, presentation packaging, luxury packaging or branded merchandise would be particularly advantageous. However, previous print and packaging experience is not essential. We would also be very interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate strong transferable skills and have the aptitude and enthusiasm to develop their technical production knowledge with us.

Regardless of your previous industry experience, you should have:

Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, supplier costs and project profitability.

A confident communication style with strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard.

Confidence communicating with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

The ability to obtain and compare supplier quotations and make commercially considered decisions.

The ability to balance creative ambition with practical considerations, budgets and deadlines.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to react quickly when challenges arise.

A proactive, solutions-focused approach and confidence taking ownership of projects from initial brief through to final delivery.

The ability to remain organised and calm while managing multiple live projects within a fast-moving environment.

The ability to learn quickly and develop an understanding of new materials, processes and production techniques.

Comfort working collaboratively across international teams and managing relationships across different time zones.

A genuine interest in packaging, print, materials, design and creative production.

Above all, we are looking for someone with the right combination of creativity, organisation, commercial awareness, attention to detail and ownership. If you have those qualities but do not yet have extensive print and packaging experience, we would still encourage you to apply.
