Job summary

Protocol Education are recruiting teaching assistants from creative backgrounds to work in a supportive primary special needs school in Wandsworth, starting September 2026. You will work one-to-one and in small groups, using creative approaches to help each child access the curriculum.

Experience is useful but not required; onsite training will be provided. The role is Monday to Friday, 8:45–15:15, in a class of 6–8 students with needs including speech and language difficulties and mild autism.

Qualifications

• Experience in education and working with special needs is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to follow tailored curriculum and support students academically and socially.
• Strong communication with students, parents and staff is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support students one-to-one and in small groups throughout the day.
• Assist in lessons such as music, art, cooking, numeracy and literacy.
• Follow students' individualised plans and help them reach targets.
