Job summary

Depden Care Farm is seeking a proactive Horticultural Development Coordinator to transform six acres into attractive, biodiverse gardens and growing spaces. You will bring practical horticultural or landscape-management know-how and a passion for sustainable growing to our small, values-driven charity near Bury St Edmunds.

Qualifications

• Practical horticultural, vegetable production or landscape-management knowledge.
• Experience planning and maintaining horticultural spaces through the seasons.
• Understanding of sustainable growing and good environmental practice.

Responsibilities

• develop attractive, accessible and biodiverse gardens and growing spaces.
• lead productive and sustainable fruit and vegetable growing.
• help establish initiatives including a community veg box scheme, plant sales and seasonal produce.
• plan and deliver longer-term horticultural improvements across the site; and
• create purposeful horticultural projects that enable our Farm Helpers to learn new skills, participate and experience the satisfaction of meaningful work.
