Qualifications

• Experience in horticulture (2–3 years+).
• Strong knowledge of plant establishment, pruning and pest control.
• Comfortable with garden photography and logging visits.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• UK driving license essential; training provided for some areas.

Responsibilities

• Care for gardens built and planted by the team, delivering high-quality finishes.
• Maintain sustainable and pro-active gardening on site across roof gardens and courtyards.
• Assist with administrative tasks including taking images and updating the garden log.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Potential involvement in special projects such as Chelsea Flower Show.

Job description

Our clients are a multi-award winning garden design and build company based in Clerkenwell. We are recruiting for a Gardener / Horticulturist to join our small aftercare and planting team who exclusively look after the gardens that we have built and planted. This role will require working on a range of sites from roof gardens to urban courtyards. As one of their horticulturist, you will ensure high quality finishes and sustainable and pro-active gardening in the gardens that we create. This is a great opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join our team with excellent opportunities for growth and participation in special projects such as the Chelsea Flower Show.

Candidate requirements

• Right to live and work in the UK
• Previous experience 2-3 years+ in horticulture
• Excellent knowledge of plant establishment and maintenance including pruning and pest control.
• A passion for learning planting design principles
• Organised and pro-active with good timekeeping
• First class customer service skills
• Be competent at administrative tasks associated with the role including taking images, updating the garden log.
• Great communicator who confidently speak to clients and the team
• UK driving license essential
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Have a recognised Horticultural qualification and ideally PA1/PA6a, CSCS Card however training will be given in some areas.
