Creative Classroom Teaching Assistant – SEND Hub
Redcar | January 2027 Start | £95–£110 per day

Are you a creative, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual looking to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school's SEND Hub in Redcar from January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a supportive and inclusive environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential. You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning while supporting their academic, social, and emotional development.

The Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
  • Assist in creating a safe, positive, and nurturing learning environment where children can thrive.
  • Deliver engaging, creative, and interactive activities tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Support pupils in developing confidence, communication skills, independence, and positive social interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals, and parents to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Encourage participation and engagement both inside and outside of the classroom.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children is essential, whether in a school, childcare, youth work, coaching, or similar setting.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, or communication needs, is highly desirable.
  • A patient, caring, and adaptable approach with the ability to build positive relationships.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and helping them achieve their goals.
  • The ability to remain calm, resilient, and proactive in a busy school environment.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
