Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services is seeking a dedicated Chef/Cook on a zero-hours, permanent casual basis to help ensure smooth operation of defence catering services. You will prepare high-quality food, help manage menus, and support continuous improvement while representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.

The ideal candidate will hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent, have food hygiene certification, and experience supervising a team in a similar chef

Qualifications

• Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Have experience supervising a team.
• Have experience in a similar Chef role.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Have a flexible approach to working.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food for clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening to customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting with creation of new menus and concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
