Job summary

Bob and Berts Magherafelt is seeking a passionate Chef to lead the kitchen, developing seasonal menus and ensuring high-quality, safe, and consistent meals for guests. You will manage daily prep, assist with inventory, and work in a fast-paced cafe environment using fresh, local ingredients.

The role emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and delivering comforting food to the local community, with shifts including weekends and early mornings.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a chef or cook in a cafe, bistro, or fast-paced kitchen.
• Proven ability to create menus, manage costs, and work with seasonal produce.
• Ability to work quickly and cleanly under pressure.
• Food Hygiene Certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute creative, fresh, and seasonal cafe menus, including breakfast and lunch.
• Prepare and cook menu items to high quality standards.
• Ensure all dishes are prepared to spec and presented aesthetically to enhance customer experience.
• Monitor stock levels, manage inventory, and place orders with suppliers, while minimizing wastage.
• Maintain a spotless kitchen workspace and strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and handle customer special requests or allergies.
