You're a skilled and detail-focused creative artworker who cares about producing beautifully crafted, accurate work. You're comfortable across print and digital, with a strong eye for design and typography. You're organised, adaptable and collaborative, with a positive, solutions-focused approach.

The role

As a Creative Artworker at Magpie, you'll work closely with our creative and client services teams to turn approved creative into beautifully crafted, technically accurate work across print, packaging and digital. Working closely with our Senior Creative Artworker, you'll take responsibility for artwork, adaptation and production across a wide variety of formats, developing your skills and independence while maintaining consistently high standards.

Key requirements
  • 3+ years' experience in creative artwork or production within a design studio, branding agency or similarly creative environment.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong craft and attention to detail across print and digital.
  • High competency in InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, with experience preparing production-ready artwork.
  • Strong knowledge of print and production processes, including colour, repro, specifications, proofs and finishes.
  • Experience creating and adapting digital assets across multiple formats and specifications, including high-volume deliverables.
  • A strong eye for typography, layout and composition, with good design sensitivity when adapting creative.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail, with an organised approach to files, version control and quality assurance.
  • A natural collaborator, with an open, proactive and positive mindset, comfortable working with teams, clients and external partners.
  • Curiosity about new production techniques, tools and technologies.
  • Experience in packaging/FMCG, retouching or basic motion skills such as After Effects is an advantage, but not essential.
Key responsibilities
  • Creative artwork and craft: Produce accurate, beautifully crafted artwork across print, packaging and digital, maintaining the integrity and quality of the approved creative direction.
  • Adaptation and production: Independently extend approved designs across suites of assets, layouts, formats, markets and channels. Work confidently across both high-volume production requirements and more bespoke, craft-led deliverables.
  • Digital production: Create and adapt digital assets accurately and efficiently across a range of formats and specifications, managing multiple versions and outputs while maintaining consistency and attention to detail.
  • Print and packaging: Set up documents, schematics, nets and cutter guides; prepare scatter proofs and GMGs; help establish and interpret print specifications; prepare final print-ready artwork; and check proofs and production files.
  • Visualisation and image-making: Support the creative team with comps, mock-ups and client-ready visuals, including image retouching and manipulation where required.
  • Quality control: Check your work thoroughly throughout the production process, identifying inconsistencies, technical issues and potential errors before delivery.
  • Organisation and delivery: Proactively manage your time and workload across multiple projects and deadlines, maintaining clear, well-organised files, naming and version control, and communicating early when priorities, timings or requirements need clarification.
  • Collaboration and communication: Work productively with designers, client services, clients, production partners and partner agencies, communicating clearly, seeking feedback, developing your skills and knowledge, and helping find solutions when challenges arise.
Working at Magpie
  • Full-time role, 9:30am–6pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
  • Hybrid working – you'll be in our Shoreditch studio Monday to Wednesday, with the option to work from home on Thursdays and Fridays.
