Job description

Creative Artistic Youth Worker

Start Date: September 2025

Location: Swindon

Hours: 08:30-15:30 Mon-Fri (Part-Time roles available)

Protocol Education is currently working with a variety of SEN/SEMH schools throughout Swindon, seeking candidates with a strong Creative/Arts background.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with a range of special educational needs, both 1:1 and in small groups.
  • Assisting teachers with whole-class learning and behaviour support.
  • Bringing calm, confidence, and compassion to busy classrooms across the school week.

Using your creative background in Arts, sensory, therapy, or drama, you will uniquely support SEND pupils with various needs and emotions, enhancing their daily lives and education. Your creative approach will engage students, promote confidence, and foster supportive learning and progress.

Skills and qualifications: Arts background/degree, sensory or therapy background, drama background/degree, SEND experience.

Candidate qualities:

  • Believes every student can make outstanding progress regardless of background or need.
  • Is rigorous, relentless, determined, and inspirational as a leader.
  • Utilizes diverse teaching methods to deliver engaging lessons and CPD sessions.
  • Is caring, passionate, and committed to building strong relationships with staff, students, parents, and the community.

Pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent employment later.
